- I know next to nothing about music theory but as I am currently a guitar student of James Shipway, I had to have this book. Once again James has hit it out of the park. His clear and concise language is superb. This book enables the beginning theory student to finally have a tool to make sense of triads, intervals, keys and anything else you need to know without getting bogged down with the things you don't. Highly recommended!
- One of the best things about this book is what James chooses NOT to write about. As the title implies, he has distilled down what would otherwise be a headache inducing topic, into just the essentials and explained those in a way that is easy to grasp. I find learning to play guitar hard enough already. Thanks James for making the theory part easier.
